# officer guide

How regular officers use the armory in-game.

## Taking a loadout

1. Go to the armory NPC.
2. Open the menu (target or textui depending on `Config.InteractionMode`).
3. Pick a unit you have access to.
4. Confirm the equipment list.
5. The deposit is taken from your bank and the gear appears in your inventory.

## Returning a loadout

1. Go back to the armory NPC.
2. Choose **Return loadout**.
3. Your deposit is refunded, minus a penalty for any items you no longer have.

## Good to know

* You can only have **one active loadout at a time**.
* If you disconnect while still holding a loadout, the obligation stays open and command is notified.
* When you log back in, you will see a reminder that your loadout is still out.
