# 5Code Recognition

Characters remember and recognise each other by voice, clothing, face and tattoos — for FiveM (QBCore · Qbox · ESX · standalone).

**5code-recognition** gives every character a real memory. You walk up to someone, press **F3**, and your character studies them: their voice, what they are wearing, their face, their tattoos. Each cue fills its own bar, and together they build one **reliability %**. Reach the act line and you *know* that person. Meet them again in a mask and a different jacket and you may not — and the server can prove it.

No more "I recognised him by his voice" when nobody ever heard him speak. Every scan is stored, every action is snapshotted, and admins can see exactly what a character could and could not know at the moment they acted.

### Highlights

* **Four cues** — voice, clothing, face and tattoos, each with its own bar and its own weight.
* **One reliability ring** — configurable act line (default 80 %), never forced, always logged.
* **Memories that expire** — 5 days, 24 h or 2 h by strength; 30 days for a hidden-camera recording.
* **Disguises** — a masked acquaintance is scanned and reported exactly like a stranger, and saved as a second memory ("the hoodie guy") until the mask comes off in front of you.
* **Familiarity** — knowing someone well makes scans *faster*, never more certain, and never while their face is hidden.
* **Five items** — voice changer, hidden camera, magnetic scanner, batteries and paper reports. Hidden-camera recordings are printed from the **F3** menu.
* **Face implant clinic** — new face, new name, new voice: everybody forgets that character.
* **New Life Rule** — die without a revive and you forget the people who watched you go down.
* **Proofs** — automatic snapshots on aim, damage, kill, cuff, rob and search, kept in a tamper-evident log you can check with `recognition:verifyproofs`.
* **Admin panel** — a tablet-style panel: pair view with live watch and a trend chart, lookup with live suggestions, a day-by-day timeline, deaths, clothing tools, one-click Discord export and an in-game settings editor with a tip on every setting.
* **Clothing Auto-scan** — teaches the script what every clothing item covers, including your EUP and addon packs.
* **Weather and light** — night, rain and fog slow the eyes down; a flashlight helps. The voice is never slowed.

The support level of every script (**Supported**, **Stub / snippet** or **Detect only**) is on the [Compatibility Matrix](/5code-docs/5code-recognition/integrations/compatibility.md).

New here? {% hint style="warning" %}
**Keep the folder name `5code-recognition`.** Other scripts call `exports['5code-recognition']:…`, and renaming the folder breaks every one of them.

### How it works in one picture

1. Someone steps in front of you. You press **F3**, choose **Scan person to memory** with the **UP / DOWN** arrows and press **ENTER**. An arrow marks the person you face (**LEFT / RIGHT** changes person, **SPACE** picks up to three people at once).
2. You press **ENTER** again to start. For about two seconds four bars start to fill — the same for everybody.
3. **Somebody you remember:** the answer shows after 2–3 seconds — **Recognized** with the memory line (where and when you met) at 80 % or more, **Not sure** with only the % below that. No pose. The look then keeps working quietly: their voice is added when they talk, what you keep seeing is learned, and walking away saves it.
4. **Somebody new:** your character starts a thinking pose — the other player can see you studying them — and the bars fill: **voice** while they actually talk, **clothing**, **face** and **tattoo** while you can see them. The ring in the middle is your **reliability %**.
5. When a full scan ends, the result is **Noted**, **Recognized**, **Not sure** or **Too little seen** — and a memory is saved with a lifetime that matches how well you saw them.

One option does both jobs: the first time you meet someone it *memorizes* them; after that it *recognizes* them in a couple of seconds. The second option, **Recognize**, is only that 2–3 second look: somebody you do not know gets **You don't know him**, and nothing is saved. The first two seconds look the same for everybody, and a masked person is only recognized quickly by their voice or remembered tattoos, never by clothes alone.

The menu has two more options: **Camera recordings** prints a paper from a hidden-camera recording, and **Stop looking** ends every scan and quiet look at once. The menu uses the arrow keys and **ENTER** only — the number keys do nothing, because on most servers they are the inventory hotbar.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://5code.gitbook.io/5code-docs/5code-recognition.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
